Entry Level Instrument Technician I

- Prior experience with Land Surveying or Construction, while not required, would be beneficial.
- Performs duties assigned by crew chief. Follows verbal instructions.
- Assist in preparing the field truck with proper equipment. Take proper care and maintenance of field locker and equipment.
- Use of shovel, picks, machete, hammer, and other hand tools to search and locate survey monumentation.
- Cut and remove brush and undergrowth for line of sight.
- Must speak effectively and professionally to customers and fellow employees.
- Must be able to learn how to drive stakes to set grades on construction projects.
- Must be able to learn how to read, interprets, and understands plots, surveys, plats, maps, and construction plans.
- Must be able to learn how to hold and plum rod in obtaining elevations and distance.
- Must be able to learn basic sources of measurements errors.
- Must be able to learn how to draw sketches, taking field notes, and taking pictures of project sites.
- Must be able to learn how to use Robotic Total Stations, Survey Data Collectors, Survey GPS Equipment, and Tablets. Must be able to learn how to charge and maintain the equipment.
- Must be able to learn how to transfer data between various devices and equipment and email the files.
- Proficient at filling out timesheets accurately and turning them in on time.
- Must be able to learn how to utilize point codes during collection survey data.
- Must be able to learn how to conduct boundary retracement, as-built, and topographic surveys.
